I'll lump these two days together as one post as both were part of the "Local Joy Weekender", which looking back wasn't that much of a joy!
Two-night event at the Park Hotel in Tynemouth. Only reason we went is a mate’s band was playing their debut gig.
All local bands showcasing their talents, mainly all indie or alt rock.
Out of all the bands that played, none hit the big time! Though me mate Colin who played in the New Souls ended up in a band that supported Oasis at the arena years later.
The band Still, sticks in my mind due to a lass in our group banging on how great they were, and they were shite. They did very awful cover of When Will I be Famous, I can answer that, never.
Absent Minded's first gig went to shit as their drummer ended up using his hands to drum and he kept dropping his sticks!
Ended up walking home both nights which was more fun than 90% of the two nights!
