A very hot day to go a gig!
Hadn't heard much by either band but mate wanted to go so thought why not.
Mountain Goats play a mix of indie rock you probably would hear a lot on college radio if you were a yank. I thought they were pretty good when I saw them play.
The Submarines were a husband and wife duo doing the whole indie rock thing, think they are still a band but their last album according to Wikipedia was released 2011!
They might have had a full band with them on this tour, but I can't remember!
