05.06.2010 - Magrudergrind/Mob Rules/Fashanu - The Northumberland Arms, Newcastle
Putting these together as both happened on the same day!
Went to Leeds for the afternoon show, I was late to the mini van as got a haircut in the morning, also had a brick thrown at me by a bunch of drunk idiots at 9am!
Though wasn't too late to leave, ended up with 3 hours down to Leeds with the best of Saxon on, fucking torture that was! As I don't drive and had been a while since I had been to Leeds was unaware of the one way system in the city centre, so one missed turn meant we had to go round again!
The Fenton I thought was a decent venue, someone said it was in a rough part of Leeds but seemed ok to me!
Was good to see Magrudergrind play again, though during their set was some kid proper flexing his muscles which just seem strange!
Missed the first band as I was outside having a pint.
Way back to Newcastle for the show there was funny as we got asked if anyone had bought any CD's, which we hadn't so back to listening to Saxon again!!!
Newcastle show was good, Magrudergrind bought up the time about the incident with Anal Cunt!
Mob Rules were class, had been waiting to see them for ages, both albums they did were solid.
Fashanu brought a lighter taste to the gig with their more happy poppy punk.
It was a long day but was something different to do!
