01.08.2004 - Knifed/Boxed in/Break It Up/Fucked In The Face - The Head of Steam, Newcastle

Would say this would probably be my first proper DIY Local hardcore show? May have been a Sunday night gig? Was definitely a last minute decision for me to go, which I'm glad I did as it opened me up to more music and gigs.

Grimmification were on the flyer but never played. So, we got Fucked in the Face, thrashy grindcore, at the time I kind of thought it was more like Orchid.

Not sure if they ever put anything out or if it was just a one-off thing?

Second time seeing Break It Up, good old school hardcore and also ex-Voorhees/Thirty Seconds to Armageddon.

Boxed In were from Leeds, excellent D-beat and members have been in so many bands over the years. Was pretty blown away by them when I saw them.

Headliners, Knifed were over from Ireland, fast hardcore, their singer was massive and later on or before then set he did a lap dance for Pete from Fucked... as it was kind of a stag do for him as well(?), do remember the singer going to him, "Up the bum, no babies!". The mate I went with was disgusted by this and I didn't realise then, but he was a massive homophobe and later massive arsehole!
